With some babies the leaps are more clearly visible than with others. Some leaps in particular will be more visible than others. But every baby goes through them. Every human being makes leaps. Just think about puberty. You can also refuse to believe in that, but you can’t escape it can you?

No, your baby doesn’t have an on/off button! Your baby needs you during the leaps because that’s when he experiences stress. You also need your best buddy when you’re stressed. So you could say that: Babies are just like people 😉 And in times of stress when you get help from your best buddy, your stress reduces. Is it gone? No it’s not. And you shouldn’t want the leaps to be gone either. A leap is a step going forward after all! But… you’ll notice that with the right help from you (which we’ll help you with!) your baby is going to be crying and clinging a lot less and will eat and sleep much better.

Leaps are calculated on the basis of the due date. Always, even if your baby is born (much) too early or late. Brains simply need time to develop. The brains develop on both the inside and the outside of the womb. When a baby is born prematurely the brains doesn’t magically fast-forward a few weeks. In reverse, if a baby is born much too late, the brains will also simply keep on developing. Watch out: this only applies to the development of the brain (and therefore the leaps!) and not to other parts (like getting used to sounds and light outside of the belly) of the total development of your baby.
